Back in lovely(dreary) Ohio

I got back from Cali yesterday. I had a GREAT time. I can't wait to go back there for good. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my family in the desert. We enjoyed nice weather. It was 85 degrees. Nice, considering on Wed Cincinnati saw at least 2" of snow...BUUUURRRRR. Me and Hubby stayed with my dad a couple of days. On saturday night, I got together with all my friends and went to this place called Eagles Nest. It is at an Indian casino called Pechanga. We had a blast. We partied hardy for my b-day. My choice of drink that night was Red Bull and Vodka. What a yummy combination. I will post pics of the celebration shortly! Sunday was my actual birthday, and my mom and dad cooked me lumpia. Boy, was it yummy. My family came out for that. Then Monday was my last day in Cali. I went by and saw one of my bestest friends, and then when I left there, my other bestest friend came over and hung out for a lil bit. I was very sad to leave on Tuesday morning. When we finally got back to Cincy, I had to get my hubby packed, because he had to Oklahoma for work. He really hates to fly.

On a sad note. My mom called me last night, and told me that my grandpa had a heart attack. It must not have been to serious, he was able to tell my grandma he thought he was having one. She rushed him to the hospital, and they did confirm he had a heart attack. He is still in the hospital with a heparin drip(blood thinner). Hopefully he will be able to go home tomorrow or Friday. He has a Tee time at a fancy resort. He told my grandma not to cancel the reservations yet....lol. This is what I hate about living so far away. I wanted to hop back on that airplane and go home, so I could be with my family. Hopefully this will be our last year away from family. Keep my grandpa in your thoughts and prayers.

Happy Birthday to Me.......

30 yrs ago today, I was born. It was on Thanksgiving. My parents were supposed to go out to Anza Borrego, to spend the holiday with the family. The night before, my moms very best friend Sandy told her to call her at 6 o'clock in the morning when she went in to labor. I was supposed to be born on the 11th of Nov. Sandy's b-day is Nov 27th, so she told my that she had to wait till the 27th before she had me. My mom was not keen on that idea. So, thats why she said call her on the 27th when she went into labor. Sure enough my mom did, and I was born at 6:53am Novemebr 27th 1975. So, here I am celebrating the big 30.

I'm outtie!!!!!

I leave tomorrow afternoon to go home...WOOHOO. I am so freakin excited. I get to spend the holidays with my family, and my birthday with friends and family. I can't hardly stand the wait. I have been doing laundry and cleaning all day. I have still yet to pack. We will get to it sometime tonight. We still have to make a quick trip to walmart for the kitty, then we can come home and finish getting ready to go.

I went to the dentist today. I hate the dentist, but it has to be done. I guess I houldn't have waited 2 yrs to go. It is now catching up with me. I do have to go back and get some cracked fillings fixed, and oh yeah the fun part of getting my wisdom teeth pulled. Yeah for me.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Poker Night

We had our first official poker night here last night. It was a good time. We had a good turn out, considering it was the first time my hubby had it here. A bunch of the guys from work together 1x-2x's a month and play poker. We decided to do it here. It was fun. Some of the wives showed, and yes we behaved ourselves, and didn't bother the men....lol. Lots of beer was drank. I made yummy Jell-O shots. They were a big hit with everyone. Not sure if we are going to do it again, but I am glad that we did.

On another note I leave in 2 days for Cali. I am so damn excited. As my dad would say, I have 2 more sleeps. HEHEHE. We are going out to Anza Borrego for Thanksgiving. My grandparents do this alot. They take a bunch of trailers, and camp out for the weekend. I have not done it since I before I got married almost 9 years ago. I am definatley looking forward to it. I am SOOOOO excited.

We survived

We survived the Marine Corps Ball. It was on Sat night. It was at a nice country club. Some of our friends got a hotel room at a nearby hotel. After the ball we went back to their room and drank and had a good time. My hubby's unit provided us with transportation from the hotel to the country club, so we didn't have to worry about driving. I wish I had pictures to show right now. Hopefully I will have them soon. I am still in the stone age and use my 35mm camera......lol. Happy 230th belated Birthday Marines!!!

My hubby

My hubby has decided to start his own blog. If ya get a chance go say hi.

Here is a lil more background about me. I have been married almost 9 wonderful years, to a man that means the world to me. We don't have any kids right now. we really want kids, and have been trying for awhile. I was diagnosed with PCOS a couple of years ago. I had surgery in July for polyps on my uterus. They found an extra band of tissue that was in the general area where a fertilized egg would implant itself. They removed that and it increased my chances of getting pregnant by 50%. I'm getting ready to do another fertility treatment at the beginning of Dec. Keep ypur fingers crossed for me.

Jarhead

A local radio station here in Ohio gave 36 free tickets to the Marine reserve center for a sneak preview of Jarhead. It was a pretty good movie. The Marines that went were well behaved. We thought there was going to be alot of barking and OORAHs going around. The first part of the movie took place at Camp Pendleton, and I felt a lil homesick....lol. After the movie we all went to a bar and had a beer and the Marines talked about the movie, and us wives talked about the Marine Corps Ball. It is a week from today. I am kinda excited because this is going to be the first time, that I actually have female friends that are going. I have taken my friends with me in the past, with friends of my hubby's. We have a really good couple friend that has gone with a few times. Thats always fun. These friends that are going this time, are actually married to guys in the unit here. FUN FUN. I am hoping to have a good time. It is time to fix breakfast. Have a great weekend!!!

Job Interview

I have a job interview today. Well actually it is an open house for this company that I worked all of 3 days for last summer. I was hired as "on-call" position. I gave them all the days that I was able to work. They never called me for work. I decided it was time to look for a new job. I got one and then that's when the other job started calling me for work. They wanted me to work the days that I was already work for my full-time job. Eventually they stopped calling me. I am wondering if that is going to make a difference whether they hire at me at this place. Same company differ building. I thought I would give it a shot. What's the worst they can tell me.......NO. I am only looking for on call work right now, because the holidays are coming up and I want to be able to spend time with the family. Working in a nursing home means working holidays. i am usually not opposedto working holidays, but we already have plans to go away. I know that they will not let me do that it was to have a full time job. So hopefully this will work out. My hubby is from Georgia and since we are closer then we have ever been for the holidays we wanted to spend Christmas with them. Wish me good luck today. Hope everyone has a good day.
