The Ick

Well I have been feeling icky for the last couple of days. I thought I was getting better, but this damn cough won't go away. It prolly doesn't help that on Friday were outside in 32 degree weather partying it up. Well, I am hating myself for that now. I didn't realize how cold I was till I got home, and my whole backside was frozen. I didn't think it was that cold, we were sitting around a fire. Oh well, ya live and learn..... right?

I found them....

I found my shoes for the ball. I am so excited. I got them at Wally World. They are so comfortable, right now anyways. I think this is going to be the first Marine Corps ball that I go to with comfortable shoes. Who says beauty has to be painful....lol.

Nothing much been going on around here. The weather is getting colder. It does not stop us and our friends from hanging out around a fire pit in the backyard roasting weenies and a couple of beers. That what we did over the weekend. It was fun. Cold but fun. The plan is to do the same this weekend. Some of my friends were going to go to a haunted trail, I just can't do things like that. I go out with clean undies, I come home with clean undies. No messes for me...lol.

I am counting the days till I get to go home. I am so excited. I get to celebrate my b-day with my family amd friends. I will be the big 30. Not sure what to think about that. My friends here and I were talking about doing something for birthday. I don't know, we will have to see.

Shoe shopping ......UGH!!

Why is it that when you need nice dressy shoes, you can never find the right ones? I attempted to get shoes for the Marine Corps ball yesterday. I found a lot of cute shoes, but unfortunately I was blessed with wide feet. Why is it that all the cute shoes are for people with narrow feet, and then people like me get stuck with ugly shoes? I guess it shouldn't really matter, as my dress is long you won't even see my feet. I went shopping with my friend Shannon yesterday and she is blessed with the same problem, but she was able to finds shoes. She told me I should just wear black slippers and no one would notice the difference....lol. I thought she is probably right. I am looking for something that I just can slip on, so when my feet start to hurt (which they always do...don't they Jen?) I can just slip them off. My quest for the perfect shoes is still on. I will keep you posted if I find anything....lol. Let me know if any of you have any suggestions.

Hi

Well, my hubby Adam is at the close of a long weekend. We didn't do much exciting. His boss told him to take a long weekend, cuz they are going to be busy for the next couple of weeks with Toys For Tots. He works with the reservists here in Cincinnati, and Toys for Tots is big thing with the reservists. They will be plenty of long nights and him working on the weekends collecting toys and money for the kids. It makes him feel good about doing it. We actually get to take some of the money and go shopping for the kids. It sounds like fun. I love to shop!

We have the Marine Corps birthday ball coming up. We are going to a Country club to celebrate. I bought my dress already. It was 40% off. So, it only cost me $75 instead of $130. Pretty cool huh. I am hoping this one will be fun. Last year kinda sucked. I met Danielle when we got here, and her hubby left to go to Iraq shortly after that and she went home. She had a brand new baby, I would have left to....lol. Well, anyways they are going to be here this yr, so hopefully it should be fun. I hope!

On another note. I get to go home for Thanksgiving. I am so excited. I will be home with family and friends for my b-day....The BIG 30. I am not sure what to think about this yet. I don't want be out of my 20's. they have been so good to me....lol. My birthday is the sunday after Thanksgiving. My mom and dad are gonna cook me dinner...woohoo! They are going to make Lumpia for dinner. It is like an eggroll. It is so good. Yummy. I can hardly wait.

I hope everyone has a good day!

I need a job!

Anyone have any suggestions? I had a job and then when my hubby left to go overseas, I quit so I could go back to Cali for a lil bit. I can't believe how difficult it is to find a job, a nursing job for that matter. I live to far away for most of the jobs I see. With gas prices nowadays I don't hardly think it is worth driving 50 miles round trip. I have a couple of leads, but we will see where they go.

Anyways, I just watched a stupid movie. It had some funny lines in it, but thats about it. It was Anchorman. We do the blockbuster online thingy. How cool is that they deliver the movies right to your house, and then you can put them right back in the mail and wait for a new movie to be sent to ya.

I told ya'll that this wasn't going to be very exciting. I just thought I would give it another shot.

Everyone else is doing it!

I just thought I would give this a try since everyone else is doing it. My really cool friend Jen talked me into doing this thing. I don't know how often I will post. If anything exciting happens, I might just do it. We will see where it goes from here. If ya stop by let me know what ya think.
